Excellent takeout spot for dim sum and ready made stir fry from the hot food bar. Good value and very fresh. I tried their food from a promotion, and I'm super happy to return for their regular price, which is already very affordable. Had the cheung fun, har gow, potstickers, braised tofu, sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour pork - it was all good. The people are nice, and the place seems clean. It's great to be able to support this local business.

My church always order trays from this place almost every Sunday. Their prices are very affordable, the food amount is plenty and the food tastes great. Since we order more than a hundred each time, we get our food delivered for free. They never fail to deliver on time.

Lazy Sundays calls for food delivery and binge-watching trashy reality TV like Selling Sunset and Love is Blind. And, it calls for dim sum! Dim sum delivery beats fighting with aunties in line at the resto...cuz you already know, it's a losing battle. Sweet Delight Bakery is a dim sum deli and Chinese fast food shop that's been around the Excelsior before Yelp. They're open for takeout and delivery. There's one table for dine-in but it's stuffy and cramped inside. I believe Sweet Delight Bakery is the only dim sum deli outside of Chinatown that offers delivery every day. Sun Maxim's on Irving offers delivery on certain days and their delivery prices are equivalent to a sit-down dim sum resto. M E N U Cantonese Dim Sum and Chinese American Food (steam tray set-up). BYO lunch box (like Panda Express) or you can purchase food in the steam trays by the pound. $10 goes a long way here. CC's accepted. Do note that for delivery (DoorDash and UberEats), it's a limited menu. And, they tend to run out of food early (before noontime) and will substitute items that they don't have without telling you. I've ordered delivery from Sweet Delight Bakery several times and have gone in person twice. When ordering before 10 AM, my delivery arrives in 20 minutes! F O O D (UE delivery prices listed below) --Food spread: https://tinyurl.com/mr2kyjec * Shrimp Dumpling (3 pc - $3.25) // 2.5 stars Thick, gummy wrapper with a dry shrimp filling. * Shrimp & Scallop Dumpling (3 pc - $3.35) // 2.5 stars Same as above but with frozen peas and carrots. * Pork Siu Mai (3 pc - $3.25) // 3.5 stars Plump, savory, and meaty. * Beef Siu Mai (3 pc - $3.25) // 3.5 stars Same as above but with a bouncy soft texture. * Chicken Potsticker (3 pc -$3.25) // 2 stars Thick, tough wrapper with a cabbage heavy filling. * Egg Rolls (3 pc - $3.25) // 3 stars Standard veggie egg roll with cabbage, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms. Not overly greasy. * Combination Buns ($3 each): https://tinyurl.com/yymc5mxm // 4 stars They tend to sell out early...for good reason. Generous filling of savory chicken thigh with Chinese sausage, shiitake mushroom, and half a boiled egg. The bao could be airier and moister but can't beat the value. Perfect to store in the freezer and to warm up for a quick meal. * Steamed BBQ Pork Bun ($1.50 each) // 2.5 stars Dry bao with inconsistent filling. One bao was generously filled with char siu but the other, not so much. * Beef Cheung Fun ($4) // 0 star The rice noodle was too thick and the beef filling was rancid (smelled like durian). * Sesame Balls (3 pc - $3.25): https://tinyurl.com/mrywxfw5 // 4.5 stars Arrived still warm, the sesame ball was deliciously crunchy and nutty with a satisfying QQ chew and a subtly sweet red bean filling. They warm up great in the air fryer the next day. S E R V I C E All business. Staff speaks English. Quick delivery. The two times I visited in person (weekday around 11:30 AM), the line was very slow moving since one staff seems dedicated to preparing delivery orders. A M B I A N C E Hole-in-the-wall with one table for dining in. You come here strictly for the food, not the vibes. P A R K I N G Challenging parking during peak hours. Overall, Sweet Delight Bakery serves average dim sum in the city. Sure, there may be better dim sum delis nearby in the Portola (San Bruno Ave) and at Chase Luck Bakery (Ocean Ave) but none offer delivery. Convenience wins for this one!
